working from home

working from homeby squeezing_mwah » Wed Sep 26, 2007 2:59 pm

i've decided to work from home rather than aggravae my condition by worrying about going to an office and facing people, not being able to do certain things etc...

so, does anyone have any suggestions?

i quite fancy going into proof reading, someone suggested making cards and some craftwork, but i'm not sure i have the patience for that

I actually bought some blank cards with envelopes on ebay last week with the intention of making some fancy wedding invitations etc. to sell on ebay - but now I've thought about it I don't think I have the patience to do something like that :? It was an impulse decision in the hope of making money :D

Hmmm I don't know what to suggest with regards to working from home. It's difficult to google for something to cause you'll most likely end up with dodgy sites and make money quick schemes....

Sorry I'm not much help xx

such is life. good days and not so good, thats partly why i want to work from home, and also because ME and IBS are aggravated by stress and i am very easily stressed! lol
plus, on bad days, i won't have to worry about getting on the bus etc

I don't think you should go down the craft route unless you are quite artistic. I imagine it's quite fiddly and hard work too.

It's difficult to know what to suggest....what skills do you have?

Also you mention you have arthritis. Does it affect your hands? If so, fiddly work like that could maybe make it worse.

Will get thinking hat on for you.

the arthritis is in my hips and knees, hence the walking difficulty, but my hands are unaffected. not sure which direction to take, but i think i need to sort something out soon because we move in a few weeks

Well something arty and crafty should be ok if you're a bit talented that way but I don't think you'd make a living wage doing something like that. Anyway, if you're moving soon (somewhere nice I hope) might be best to wait til then. Have you thought of online secretarial work maybe? You don't need to be computer literate to do that, just know your way around MS Office. what do you have experience of in the past?

Still got thinking hat on. :D
