Tribalism is firmly rooted in our DNA, no amount of political or social pressure is going to change anything.
It was just 2000 years ago, we were living in small groups, insulated from outsiders by distance and geography, and anyone we didn't know was likely to be very dangerous, to be feared, and killed, if you could get in first.
So children were taught (still are!) to regard outsiders as 'the Enemy', sub-human beasts who deserve to die.
This xenophobic attitude has existed forever. Chimp tribes have been documented preparing for war, setting out purposefully to hunt and kill individuals from a neighbouring tribe. Well, the males of the neighbouring tribe, anyhow, the females are too valuable a resource to waste... And this was the norm, until a mere 100 generations ago. That is an eye-blink in our history! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DTkhp9sv58
Hatred (fear!) of outsiders is programmed into us, and is expressed in all our dealings with others.
We invent tribes (football teams, social clubs, political parties...) to focus our instincts on, and privately (or not) distrust anyone from a different culture. And that includes the Bleeding Hearts and Artists, if you scratch the surface!
We're all just animals, after all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPFzTFEWGXI
So don't feel bad (I bet you don't, anyhow!) if you hate them Niggers, or Kikes, or Wops, or Honkies, it's perfectly natural. Just try to be discrete about it, and they'll be less likely to bust your ass!
Simple! And it has to be simple, because we're dealing with a fundamental (instinctive) concept. Reason and argument cannot change such hard-wired emotions, we just have to work around the issue. It would be like insisting it is bad to grieve for a lost friend.
Racism will persist, despite the 'best of intentions', and it's just as wrong to beat up on a Racist as to abuse a Foreigner.
