should i ring or would i get laughed at?by Belfast girl » Wed Sep 12, 2007 2:10 pm

My mobile phone has been playing up lately. It is a slide phone and everytime I lift it from my desk, pocket or bag, it has dialled into the internet and I have no way of knowing how long it has been doing this. It has also phoned people without me knowing, the only thing I can suggest is that the lock function is very sensitive and when it is sitting upside down on my desk, or in my bag or pocket, that it is managing to unlock itself and dial.

It has only started doing this in the past fortnight and I am dreading my next bill! It also does not accept picture messages, even though it is supposed to, I get no notification of them at all, and the camera no longer works

I'm on a 12 month contract, halfway through and was wondering if it is worth my while ringing O2 and asking if they will replace my phone with another one that works properly, or whether they will just refuse. I would quite happily settle for a cheaper, lower model than I have now?

what do you think?

Ring them and tell them the problems you're having. I'm with O2 and they're usually pretty good at dealing with customers requests - afterall, they wouldn't like to lose a customer so they do pretty much all they can to keep them.

I'm sure they'll replace your phone for you :)

I rang and they said that they couldn't help me cos I'm not insured which is a load of rubbish, there is a 12 month warranty with every phone

Going to go into the shop and talk to them face to face

Aw hun, that's not right. If it's got a warranty on it they should be able to replace it, or at least repair it! I hope you get it sorted.

Glad you get it sorted hun. I think most of the time you have to get through to the right person. I had trouble a while back with my car insurance, they were taking out too much money than what my quote was and I must've had to ring up about 5 times becuase no one was willing to pay me the money back - but I eventually got someone who knew what they were doing and I got it all back :)

What phone are you getting? :)
