yes I been there last year, I went in the beginning of November as in the summer its just to hot to go outside. And I talk about round de 120 F in the summer

We toke a Nile cruise and after that a few days in Cairo. It was absolutely perfect, if you looking for an hotel then take the 5 stars, they cheap compared with our standards. From our group we got splitt up between some hotels, a group went to the Semiramis Interconti Hotel and in Conrad Hotel.
Both very good and clean, this is a must because you can get very sick there because we not used to some bacterias they have in the water. For this reason its advised never drink anything with ice cubes and drink water from sealed bottles.

yes we had a full arranged trip with a lot of trips to visit the monuments with all entrances included, the full pack and its worth it. We went from spain but we saw a lot of those cruise boats with people from the UK to.

Egypt is very big and also very small, its like 99.9% lives near the Nile river and that is a narrow green band in the desert. When you on the sun roof of the boat you can see the desert on both sides after the green zone and that is a magnific sight.

Here some links:

This gives a bit of idea about it.

The water is to drink but its with some bacterias from which we in europe get sick, you will sit on the toilet the whole day. To avoid this you have to watch out with ice cubes, salads ( as you dont know which water is used to clean them ) stuff like that, but on those boats they watch out for this because they dont want to have the passengers sick and the guide that will be with you will tell you this also.

well round the 50 c is quite hot

You have protection every where, the tourism is very well protected because its a steady income for a lot of people, its the second biggest income after the Suez canal for Egypt. We did not seen any trouble at all, but armed guards every where and that is a good thing. Dont worry to much about it atm I think its more dangerous in western countries then there imo

I also did a trip in egypt a few years ago and it was amazing, I recommend it to anyone! We did a cruise along the nile, which I think is the typical trip. Of course cairo is also really impressive, there is a lot to see there and it has some really interesting museums.
