Constipation help?

Constipation help?by JoJo2007 » Tue Aug 28, 2007 1:58 pm

I'm kinda embarrassed about this but I hope you can help. I keep suffering from really bad constipation even though I'm eating lots of fibre, drinking lots of orange juice etc. I sometimes go for 4 days without going....

I'm thinking of trying laxatives but I'm unsure about what effect they'll have on my body. Are they safe? How mnay should I take?

I don't want to see a doctor just yet but I may have to if things don't get better. Do laxatives work?? :?:

It sounds like you could have IBS. I'd go and see a doctor if I were you :)

i dont think it's IBS, i have that and it doesnt sound like that to me. Try the laxatives, they'll be fine so long as you follow the instructions

if you're not sure, talk to a dr first

I think laxatives have different effects on different people. They're supposed to help you go "naturally" though so maybe you should have just taken one tablet?

It also depends on the strength of the tablet. Maybe try a different brand, or try the liquid form?

Try not to worry though, I'm sure it just had an iffy effect on you. You'll be fine :)
