i recently moved house.it was a house exchange with another couple in a different area of the city.when me and my partner viewed the house,it was absolutely immaculate,and newly carpeted and decorated.we moved in last week,and they had trashed the place!there were stains all over the carpet,make-up on the walls,rips in the wallpaper,paint chipped off window sills,etc!!!i left my house spotless for them to move into,to make the transaction easier.more fool me!why would they do this?i can't do anything about it,because the tenancy is signed,blah blah blah.i feel taken advantage of,and like all my hard work was pointless! sorry to go on,but this has really upset me

I'm not surprised you're upset - that is truly an awful thing to do. I hope you can manage to restore it to how it was without too much work/money
