The game itself is a clone of the original PC game. You fallow the struggles of WW2 through the eyes of American, British and Russian soldiers. Your start out as a Russian conscript named Tanya and fight through Stalingrad, then you move onto a North African British Campaign with a soldier named Edward and you finish off with a large tank battle in Belgium as an American tank commander named Charles Walker.
The gameplay of the game is executed well and fallows close to the PC version. The action of the game is well done and very immersing. The biggest setback that hurts the game in my mind is the poor enemy and ally AI. The Single player is a major part of this game and what it is mostly based off of, and the biggest part of the single player game is the AI. The AI is scripted so the enemies are horribly predictable and only interact with you when you reach a certain spot. The AI on your allies is also dumbed down, they sometimes have poor movement and bad aim. The multiplayer is mediocre at best, but at least they have it and its always fun to go online and kill some of your buddies (Gamecube version has no multiplayer). Finest Hour isn’t a bad expansion over to the consoles but simple things could have been better, I would have to recommend this game as a rental.
