They are issuing credit card accounts to people without a social security number. There are two schools of thought in this matter. One is that these are hard-working people that just want to build an American dream for themselves. Others are concerned that this allows people to default on these loans making us all have to pay for those defaults.
Now i will tell you my thoughts about this issue. "What part of ILLEGAL do you NOT get?"
These are people who are in the U.S. ILLEGALLY. The banks are not allowed to engage in activities that support illegal activities and this is just what they are doing. This is a slap in the face to every LEGAL immigrant that has gone through the proper channels to immigrate into the U.S. so that they may also create their American Dream. If it is important to an immigrant to create that life, then doing so legally should also be a part of their process.
Let me share with you a little story that may illustrate my thoughts about illegal immigrants.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors.
I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to protesters supporting ILLEGAL immigrants:
*You are Required to let me stay in your house
*You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
*You are Required to Educate my kids
*You are Required to Provide other benefits to me and to my family (my brother will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself.
I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house.
And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah , I DEMAND that you to learn MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can communicate with me.
Sound ridiculous? This is exactly what those who counter my opinion would have you believe. That we should open our doors to everyone and provide services to everyone regardless of whether they are here legally or illegally. This would include social security, welfare, medicade, education and so much more. But you have to ask yourself, just who will be paying for all of this? And if you are honest with yourself, your answer will be that we all who are here legally will end up paying for those who are not.
Let's get realistic. The laws are in place and as a tax-paying citizen, I require that those laws be enforced accordingly.
And so instead of encouraging more ILLEGAL immigration, let's send a clear message that since a society is built on laws, that we will welcome LEGAL immigration ONLY.
